The award includes new microwave hardware, software and turnkey services to expand network coverage and capacity for Colorado's Public Safety Communications Network.

The upgrades will enable improved resiliency of public safety communications from Colorado cities and counties onto the Colorado's Public Safety Communications Network and improve communications for those agencies using the statewide network.

This new award, the majority of which was booked in Q2 of this fiscal year, is above and beyond Aviat's original $28 million contract with the State announced in September 2016.

"With ever growing concerns over public safety and security, cities, counties, and states continue to invest in their infrastructure to support mission critical communications for first responders," states Michael Pangia, president and CEO, Aviat Networks. "Aviat is the trusted choice for such public safety network deployments."
