The Randolph County Board of Commissioners Monday approved the issuance of a request for proposals (RFP) to upgrade the county emergency communications radio infrastructure. The upgrade would improve radio communications by police and ambulance services by assuring that every agency in the county has access to the frequencies used by others in the field. Commission President Mike Wickersham said the proposed plan would start with the emergency 911 center, and would address other emergency personnel.

“Under our new plan, our emergency communication personnel will have a better communications with the emergency center, as well as with other personnel. We are looking to basically redo our entire system - developing a system that’s best for Randolph County,” Wickersham said.
