APD have been shortlisted in the 2018 Digital Awards from over a hundred entries. Cloud Control Room has been selected by the judging panel of digital leaders as one of three finalists for the Best Digital Innovation award at the Hull (UK) Digital Awards. The winner will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 20 September at Hull’s newest venue, the Bonus Arena – a state-of-the-art, music and events complex. As an agile business that serves 69% of UK police forces, APD said that it is proud that their latest innovation – the Cloud Control Room has been given this recognition. This proposition is helping to future-proof the emergency services by creating the control room of tomorrow. According to APD, the Cloud Control Room will revolutionise the control room, working as an app-based solution that manages incoming calls and messages, social media feeds, resource and people location, voice-recording, incident management and more. It will facilitate multi-channel public contact via telephone, social media and live-chat – exactly what the service of the future will be built on. Charged per user, per month as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) with no additional costs for upgrades or support, it can help create significant savings in capital hardware costs for the public purse. This model also enables the control room to be completely flexible to changing public demand, for example to accommodate major events.

The Cloud Control Room won the Hull Daily Mail Business Innovation Award 2017 and was also shortlisted at the Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards and International Critical Communications Awards in Berlin.
