Critical communications award to support gender equality
Thomas Roth of Gryphon Secure, winner of the Young Engineer of the Year award, sponsored by TCCA and part of the International Critical Communications Awards (ICCA), has elected to donate his prize money to the Women in Tech organisation, an independent fund that works to enable gender equality through peer to peer support. The donation will support travel and accommodation for women – specifically students and women from non-commercial backgrounds – enabling them to attend industry conferences to advance their knowledge of the technology sector.
Thomas is a security researcher and engineer from Germany, who researches new threats and attempts to build new security mitigations before they are necessary. In the past years, his focus has mainly been on critical communication and infrastructure, with his work being published at the most prominent security conferences around the globe and acknowledged by federal police forces, vendors and universities. This year Thomas was named as one of the 30under30 by Forbes.
