The Polish Army invests in TETRA Communications

The Polish Army announced a tender for expansion of its Tetra network, including the construction, re-configuration and integration of a Tetra communication system based on the Motorola Dimetra 6.2 release in the band 380 - 430 MHz with TEA 2 encryption. The tender is divided into guaranteed and optional parts and includes several stages of implementation. The estimated value of the project is PLN 35 million net. The bids can be submitted until 28 May. The radio system of the Polish Army will be expanded with MTS-4 and MTS-2 base stations, and the contractor will supply 2,740 Tetra radios. After the expansion, the system will support up to 100 base stations and 100,000 two-way radios.

The order also includes delivery of dispatch consoles and computers for programming radios.
