Kontron Wins GSMR Contract in Spain

Kontron Transportation Spain recently won a strategic ADIF Project to provide GSM-R coverage in the border stations of Irún and Portbou in the north of the country.

Kontron Transportation Spain has been selected by ADIF to implement GSM-R coverage in the Irún and Portbou border stations.

ADIF is the public entity responsible for managing railway infrastructure in Spain and the main customer of Kontron Transportation in Spain. This project reaffirms the commitment of Kontron Transportation and ADIF to the improvement of railway infrastructures, the provision of high quality services and the strengthening of cooperation between the two companies. 

This strategic project will significantly enhance communication services for trains connecting both France and Spain, promoting better integration and efficiency in cross-border rail traffic. Kontron Transportation’s GSM-R will replace conventional analogue radio technology being currently used
