Motorola Solutions and the Motorola Solutions Foundation Support Those on Front Line of the COVID-19 Pandemic
$1M cash and in-kind donations will aid first responders and front line health care professionals.
Motorola Solutions and the Motorola Solutions Foundation are committing over $1 million in cash and in-kind donations to support our first responders and front line health care professionals whose heroic efforts are keeping us protected and safe. Additionally, the Foundation will prioritize its annual $9 million grant program to support organizations implementing COVID-19 response and relief initiatives.
Organizations benefiting from the donations include:
- First Responders Children's Foundation: The Foundation's emergency response fund provides support to the families of first responders in the U.S. who are currently enduring financial hardship.
- YMCA of the USA: An organization providing emergency childcare services to those working as first responders and health care professionals.
- International Federation of Red Cross: An international organization providing front-line assistance and support with relief efforts.
- American Red Cross: An organization providing relief supplies and emergency shelter to those in need while helping maintain the country’s blood supply.
- Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund: A fund dedicated to deploying resources to community-based organizations responding to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Chicago region.
Additionally, employees of the company around the globe are preparing for the company’s Virtual Volunteer Week taking place April 20-24 and have assisted their individual communities in countless ways -- from hosting a mobile blood drive in Temecula, California, to organizing a donation of over two tons of rice for families in need in Rwanda, to making protective face shields and masks for local hospitals and personalized homemade greeting cards for the elderly in long-term facilities.
"In this unprecedented time, our purpose to ‘help people be their best in the moments that matter’ carries even more meaning. We are deeply grateful to the first responders and health care professionals on the front line of the pandemic and are proud to support them." the company writes.
