The updated safety recommendation also emphasizes that Bluetooth pairing must take place at the emergency responder's home address to ensure a secure and confidential connection.

It is now possible to use Bluetooth headsets with the SINE radios.

The National Police now allows the Danish emergency services to use Bluetooth in SINE radios and accessories such as headsets for it's critical communications. This means, among other things, that users of SINE can have a wireless connection to their headsets and thus avoid a physical cable.

Updated safety recommendations

The National Police has updated the safety recommendations for the use of Bluetooth and emphasizes the importance that it is the individual emergency services' own responsibility to deal with the need for wireless connection and the risk of compromise in the form of e.g. eavesdropping and jamming, before implementing Bluetooth technology in their SINE - communication.

The updated safety recommendation also emphasizes that Bluetooth pairing must take place at the emergency responder's home address to ensure a secure and confidential connection.

Must support Bluetooth version 4.1 or later

Bluetooth signals can generally be picked up in a radius of 10 to 20 meters, and in special cases even further away. It is therefore essential to ensure that both SINE radios and associated accessories at least support Bluetooth version 4.1 or later in order to maintain a high security standard.
