Pro-M Zrt Provides Critical Communications during Elections in Hungary and Prepares for 5G
Pro-M Zrt., responsible for the operation of the Unified Digital Radio Telecommunication System (EDR), provided emergency communication services to the organizations concerned with the EU elections in Hungary & continues it's 5G PPDR preparations.
Pro-M Zrt., responsible for the operation of the Unified Digital Radio Telecommunication System (EDR) Critical Communications network in Hungary, recently provided emergency communication services to the organizations concerned with the EU elections in Hungary and continues the works on 5G for PPDR.
In addition to the elections of local government representatives (local government representatives and mayors, as well as minority self-governments) held in Hungary on 09.06.2024, voters also decided on the members of the next term of the European Parliament at the same time.
Pro-M Zrt. announced that the organizations prepared for this event well in advance and the company provided emergency communications to the organizations concerned with the operations of this event.
Pro-M Zrt in a statement on social media said:

Work on the 5G PPDR project is ongoing
Pro-M Zrt is currently continuously working on the 5G PPDR project, which can be implemented with EU support. Following the launch of public procurement procedures, Pro-M Zrt informed their consortium partners, such as the National Ambulance Service, the National Police Headquarters, the Defence Staff and IdomSoft Zrt. about the milestones of the project.
Based on the ongoing works, the partial territorial coverage of the Ukrainian border section and the establishment of the related 5G core network and other infrastructure conditions could be realized by the end of 2025.

Among the largest users of Pro-M are domestic law enforcement agencies, such as ORFK, TEK, BVOP, NAV and defense services. The EDR critical communications system plays an extremely important role in the successful work of these institutions.
Law enforcement currently uses more than 33,000 EDR TETRA devices in total.
