BDBOS President to Discuss Status Quo and Future of Mission-Critical Communications in Germany
Jens Koch will discuss 5G topics and the challenges posed by the technical development of the BOS digital radio with representatives from Airbus, Telefónica and the Berlin Fire Department.
On February 20, 2025, BDBOS President Jens Koch will discuss the topic of "5G for public safety - the future of critical communication" with representatives from Airbus, Telefónica and the Berlin Fire Department. The panel discussion can be followed live on site or via live stream.
The introduction of 5G marks a significant advance in mobile communications technology and offers enormous advantages for public safety. With high speed, low latency and the ability to connect many devices at the same time, 5G is revolutionizing the work of rescue services and security authorities. 5G thus offers a promising future for public safety and business-critical communication.
Technically developing the mission-critical communication of authorities and organizations with security tasks is therefore one of the major challenges. Not only political mandate and funding are crucial, but also the availability of suitable radio frequencies, broadband-capable services for use and a high level of network security and resilience. On the way to a self-controlled, highly available and highly secure broadband network for emergency services, cooperation with commercial mobile phone providers is an important intermediate step.
Jens Koch will discuss the status quo and future of mission-critical communication by the police, fire brigade and rescue services and the challenges posed by the technical development of the BOS digital radio with representatives from Airbus, Telefónica and the Berlin Fire Brigade as part of the BASECAMP_Debate event series.
The event can be attended on site or followed live via stream. In both cases, timely registration is required Details of the event and registration can be found here. The debate will also be available as an on-demand video afterwards.
