Motorola Solutions is expanding office space in TETRA R&D Center in Crakow, Poland.

Motorola Solutions has signed a lease agreement with the Buma Group for two office buildings in the Green Office Complex Crakow with a total office area about 11 300 m².

Motorola Solutions Software Center in Crakow is one of the many Motorola technology centers worldwide. Primarily developing software for TETRA terminals and Dimetra IP infrastructure. It is third largest center outside the U.S.A., after India and China.
The Center is providing software for elements of the infrastructure of radio communications for public security services working in two leading world standards, APCO and TETRA. From 40-70% (depending on the region) of the software for APCO/TETRA radio communications is manufactured in Cracow, and 100% for radios working in the TETRA standard. In every Motorola radio, used by the police or fire services from Siberia to Cape Horn, there is Cracow software inside.

For several years, Crakow Center has been creating software for wireless communication systems under the TETRA standard. In cooperation with Motorola centers in Denmark, United Kingdom, Germany and the USA, many products related to TETRA radio network infrastructure and radios that operate within it has been developed.

One of the most important achievements of the Motorola Software Center in Cracow has been the creation and integration of software for the Warsaw Police Control and Command System. Among other things, the System makes it possible to control patrol units and traffic, centralize alarm calls, and monitor traffic, and it can be used as a crisis management center. The TETRA radio communications system is one of the main elements of that System. When implementing that project, Krakov Center was involved, among other things, in the development of CAD (Computer Aided Dispatching) system.

At the time of writing, Poland was ranked fourth in computer programming competition administrator TopCoder's country rankings, having previously held the top spot. At present, only Russia, China and Japan are ranked higher. Programming is a discipline in which Poles have always excelled - which is why some of the world's best known technology companies, including IBM, Motorola and Google, have decided to set up research centres in Poland.
