Cassidian’s tactical cell contributes to international security forces’ joint training
Tetrapol tactical cell enables voice and geolocation services to be used in areas without coverage
340 security forces from France and 30 foreign countries used Cassidian’s Tetrapol professional mobile radio (PMR) solution during the European Union Police Services Training (EUPST) at the Centre National d’Entrainement des Forces Gendarmerie (CNEFG) in Saint-Astier, France.
The standalone communication solution can be networked with other systems, thereby enabling intervention forces to communicate in extreme situations and in areas where there is no network coverage. During the exercise, the participants emphasised the high performance capabilities of Cassidian’s system as well as its adaptability to their demanding requirements when organising training exercises.
Cassidian’s tactical cell allows intervention forces in the field to be provided with voice and short messaging services within a minimum time frame. It meets needs in critical situations such as crisis management (serious accidents, earthquakes, floods, etc.), extending or replacing radio network coverage or providing industrial site supervision. The solution is operational as soon as it is positioned on-site in just a few minutes, ensuring that teams involved in dealing with an incident can communicate with each other.
All radio terminals deployed in the field can be geolocated in order to increase teams’ safety, with minimum form factor and optimum intervention monitoring. All information exchanged within the tactical cell’s radio coverage (geolocation of terminals and operational status) can then be broadcast from the field to a national management centre via IP or satellite links.
