Tetra Ireland provides Cork City Marathon with AVL
The Irish TETRA Network operator provided the event, that took place on the 4th June, with an automated vehicle location system for use on mobile phones and VHF walkie talkies.
Especially for the event a real-time app was developed to instantaneously log all medical injuries, while Tetra Ireland provided a communications programme that monitored all vehicle movement from a screen in the control room at the headquarter of the Cork City Fire Brigade.
By using the AVL solution, "the location of all live moving assets" like ambulances, paramedic vehicles, first responder vehicles, bikes and golf buggies that were used in the logistics of the event could be viewed in real time in the event of a major emergency.
