Etherstack DMR Protocol Stack Demonstrated on Freescale MC13260
Etherstack announces the successful demonstration of its mobile and handheld DMR Protocol Stack on Freescale’s MC13260 system-on-chip.
London, 13 July 2011: Etherstack today announces the successful demonstration of its mobile and handheld DMR Protocol Stack on Freescale’s MC13260 system-on-chip.
The MC13260 represents the PMR/LMR industry’s first system-on-chip two-way radio. It minimises external components and required board area by including an integrated 32-bit ARM®-9 core, software defined modem, high performance RF transceiver and audio converters specifically designed for the two-way radio market on a single chip.
Etherstack’s DMR Mobile Subscriber Protocol Stack has been integrated to the Freescale device and was demonstrated at the Freescale Technology Forum 2011, San Antonio Texas, June 20-23. Etherstack has a long history as the preferred protocol stack provider for the two-way radio industry. The company’s DMR Mobile, Portable and Base Station Protocol Stacks represent the newest protocol stacks available in the company’s portfolio, joining their successful APCO P25 and TETRA technology.
This demonstration is the first in a series of DMR demonstrations planned as part of Etherstack and Freescale’s joint collaboration, and of deployment of further Etherstack protocols on the device.
