XPT: Hytera presents a new mobile radio system

Source: MCCResources

With the new mobile radio solution XPT, Hytera enables its customers a simple and cost-efficient entry into the digital trunked radio.

Based on the conventional DMR professional mobile radio, Hytera developed a distributed trunked mobile radio system with XPT for demanding users. Compared to the classic trunked radio, XPT does not require an organization channel, so that all available channels are available for communication and a free channel is automatically searched via the repeater for the call request.

Highlights of the XPT system:

  • No control channel – optimized channel utilization
  • Automatic channel and cell change via infrastructure
  • One XPT cell can consist of up to 8 repeaters, thereby providing up to 16 communication channels
  • End-to-end encryption for secure communication
  • Flexible IP networking, easily expandable

A video and more detailed information about the new XPT system from Hytera is located at the website: http://www.hytera-mobilfunk.com/dmr/xpt-digital-trunking/

If conventional DMR radio (DMR Tier II) from Hytera is already being used, existing DMR mobile stations and RD985s repeaters can easily be upgraded to XPT via a free of charge upgrade. To activate XPT on the repeater an additional license is needed.

A prerequisite for the XPT utilization is the repeater RD985s – it forms the core of the new technology from Hytera. XPT can be used with the handheld mobile radios of the series PD6, PD7 and X1 and the mobile radios MD655 and MD785.
