Advantech launches industry's first LTE Cat-M1 router with built-in redundant power for critical communications
Advantech, a leading provider of Internet of Things (IoT) systems and services, is pleased to announce its new Verizon-certified LTE Cat-M1 router, ICR-3211B. The ICR-3211B router is the first U.S. product launch from Advantech's new ICR-3200 router line. LTE Category M1 (or Cat-M1) is the ideal WWAN solution for applications that don't require high speeds usually associated with 4G LTE. LTE Cat-M1 devices provide similar speeds to 2G (375kbps up/down), better building penetration for urban or bunkered installations, and lower power for battery-powered applications.
In addition to the benefits of LTE Cat-M1, the ICR-3211B has a built-in super capacitor for sending "last gasp" messages if the primary power supply is interrupted. The combination of improved in-building communication and redundant power makes the ICR-3211B an ideal choice for building automation, energy management and remote SCADA applications. The ICR-3211B works with Advantech's WebAccess/DMP software to support centralized configuration and remote management.
