UK Home Office sets up Cyber Security for Emergency Services Network

The Home Office has signed PA Consulting to provide cyber security services in the development of the Emergency Services Network (ESN).

They have agreed to a two-year contract for £6 million to £7 million called off from the Digital Marketplace for the company to deliver the necessary services, with an option to extend it for another year.

The contract award notification states that it will also include CHECK IT health checks and cyber security architecture, design, assurance, engineering, configuration, and penetration testing.

There is currently no set date for the network's launch, which will replace Airwave in supporting voice and data communications between emergency services, but it represents a significant step in the PSN's development under the Home Office's Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme.
