Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

Secapp, a SaaS platform for critical communication, alerting and documentation, announced new features. With the latest updates, enhancements have been made to Secapp which, for example, improve message delivery and speed up alerting. Additionally, smaller improvements and fixes have been made to different functions of Secapp.

The most important new features that have been added to Secapp during the beginning of the year.

  • OneClick button visibility on locked screen - Secapp’s instant alerting buttons (OneClick) are now more quickly accessible also on the locked screen of your phone. Android users can utilize this new feature, which makes it easier to send and receive alerts without having to unlock the phone.
  • Fallback mode
Secapp’s Android platform now has a fallback mode that aims at securing the delivery of alerts also when alert messages are not delivered to the device through conventional methods. The application automatically switches to using the fallback mode if it detects problems with the notification channel used by the mobile device, and returns to the normal mode automatically when the connection works normally again.
  • Data controller’s organization displayed in Secapp group chats
Visibility of the data controller’s organization has now been added to Secapp’s group chats. This new feature is especially important from a GDPR perspective, when users from various organizations participate in the discussion. The data controller organization is displayed at the top of the discussion for all users who are part of the discussion group, which increases transparency and helps ensure compliance with the GDPR requirements.
  • Transmitting Secapp alerts to other systems
Secapp can now reach people through even more channels than before. In the future, information from Secapp alerts or messages can be directly sent to other systems, such as the info screen of the company.  This integration has been implemented through a web linkage and interface, which is a common way to integrate different web services and thus transmit information through the interface to another system.
