Simoco to Speak at Radio Comms Connect

Jonathan Bunce, Marketing Director at global mobile radio specialist Simoco Group, will address this month’s Radio Comms Connect 2011 in Melbourne, Australia, on behalf of the DMR Association.  

The event, which runs from 16th - 17th November, is Australia’s largest event dedicated to radio communications and associated products, services and technologies, with major companies and international experts attending.  

Simoco Group, which incorporates Team Simoco in the UK and ComGroup in Australia, will also have its largest presence yet at the event, underlining the company’s commitment to further expanding its operations across Australasia and the Americas.

Topics under discussion this year include LTW, P25, dPMR (digital Private Mobile Radio), DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) and TETRA, with insight into critical communications applied at the Queensland floods, where ComGroup technology was utilised.

Jonathan will speak about the DMR versus dPMR debate, looking at the differences between the two technologies, the varying factors affecting user choice, and what this implies for the future of digital technologies and the choices users are making now.  He will also look at the commercial viability of the latest equipment, including breadth of interoperability, strength of standard, future economies of scale, and the ecosystem for applications and services.
