The 14th World Championships in Athletics was held in Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow during 10th-18th August. Over 2000 athletes from 206 countries participated in 47 competitions and the total volume over these 8 days reached 380,000 people, including guests of honor, athletes, fans, and representatives of mass media. Hytera's communication solution was used to make sure the stadium is well organized during the competition.
A Russian operation was responsible for the internal radio communications in Luzhniki Stadium and chose Hytera to be the supplier. 320 PD78X/PD70X digital portables, MD78X mobile radio and 2 DMR Trunking Pro System DS-6210 were actively used during the competitions. The designed professional communication solution made sure that the whole stadium is covered by signal and the seamless connection between two networked base stations has secured the internal communication, particularly for long distance track events such as Marathon and Walking Race. The referee committee which was all equipped with PD78X/PD70X has guaranteed the precise results of the competitions were transmitted on time.
To better assist the event operation, engineers from Hytera were on-site to monitor the communications system. The outstanding performances of Hytera products and staff were highly commended by the local operator and end users.
