Simoco Launches the Linx 200 portable DMR radio
Simoco Group has announced the launch of a Tier II portable radio, the LinX 200, which will meet the market need for reliable and cost effective communications.
The radio, which meets DMR standards, operates on Tier II digital conventional and analogue modes, meaning that it supports organisations planning to upgrade to digital radio communications from their analogue systems.
Simoco Head of Product Strategy, Andy Grimmett commented: “This new release meets the call for Simoco to provide an accessible, good quality portable radio. It will complement the rest of our product portfolio and proposition, and will mean that we can service the needs of organisations looking to achieve effective push to talk communications with a compact and easy to use radio.
“We see particular market opportunities for this product in the rental market as well as sectors including hospitality, retail, security and maintenance - we’ll be working with our channel partners to target these areas.”
The DMR standard offers the benefits of a digital air interface, including spectral efficiency, quality audio to the edges of reception, and enhanced battery life. The portable supports individual, group and emergency calling and features an emergency alarm as well as four programmable side buttons to enable personalisation according to operational requirements.
Grimmett added: “We are working with many clients to manage their transition from analogue to digital communications. The addition of the LinX 200 Portable Radio to our portfolio means that we can replace radio hardware with a product that can work in both modes. This saves money and makes the switch on to digital faster and more straightforward as it negates the need for a full swap out of kit.”
