Source: MCCResources

Hytera handed over a digital communications & visualized dispatch system to Moresby Royal Police, which is charge of the security of 15th Pacific Games, held in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, from 4th to 19th July.

Moresby Royal Police used to rely on a conventional analog system, which is limited in signal coverage, voice quality and dispatch features. In order to improve the security in the capital city, police authority decided to migrate a digital system. Hytera proposed ETSI DMR Tier III trunking, and delivered a complete system including infrastructure and terminals. The new system offer features like individual call, group call, all call, SMS, GPS, all network voice recording, PABX connectivity, etc, which brings policing efficiency to a new level. Hytera service engineers are onsite with the local police to support the biggest event of the year in Papua New Guinea.

A total of 24 countries take part in the 2015 Pacific Games. This is with the inclusion of Australia and New Zealand for the first time in the history of the Games.
