SPOK Demonstrates full range of Emergency Response Solutions at APCO 2016
Spok, Inc., announced that it will demonstrate its Spok Safety Connect suite of emergency response solutions at the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) 2016 annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., August 14 to 17.
In addition to full-featured options for enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) and next-generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) call-taking and dispatch consoles, Spok experts will discuss the real-world benefits and user-friendly aspects of its emergency notification, emergency messaging, and critical alerting solutions.
“We are proud to partner with public safety organizations around the country and look forward to meeting with APCO attendees,” said Vincent D. Kelly, president and chief executive officer of Spok Holdings, Inc. “Our integrated suite of solutions is designed to meet the ever-changing technology needs of public safety professionals and help them address the tremendous challenges they face every day.”
Spok solutions give public safety organizations exceptional security capabilities and accreditations. The Company's solutions for the contact center, call recording and quality management, emergency notification, and 9-1-1 consoles have passed the rigorous Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification and are listed under the Department of Defense's Unified Capabilities Approved Products List. This accreditation means these solutions provide the level of security and interoperability required by the U.S. Government and the U.S. Military. The emergency services department for the city of Mont Belvieu, Texas, recently implemented Spok’s critical alerting solution.
“We have not had one issue,” said Bruce Oliphant, chief of Mont Belvieu emergency services. I’ve been around public safety for 35 years and managed a lot of new technology implementations, and this one went extremely well. The Spok team handled it like a multi-million dollar project and we are very pleased with the results.”
