TAIT Communications Faces Strong Demand

The manufacturing operation is increasing its staffing by 30 and is considering additional shifts.

According to TAIT Communications, the Tait manufacturing plant in New Zealand is currently running at around double its long-run average production rate to ensure timely delivery of equipment to customers around the world.

“The company’s portable radio and battery lines are particularly busy, with additional automation being applied to keep up with orders”, says Jayden Moore, Tait Communications’ Production Manager. “Our factory is really humming, particularly with portable and mobile radios, but we are also looking at strong demand on the infrastructure lines and are gearing up for that,” Jayden says.

As a result, the manufacturing operation is increasing its staffing by 30 and is considering additional shifts.

Strong, continuing demand for Tait’s existing radio models is being added to by growing interest from new and existing customers for its new range of multiband terminals.

“It is satisfying to bring new models successfully into production and be consistently delivering to customers on time,” Jayden says. “These are great challenges to have.”

New Zealand Critical Communications Public Safety Network

Tait Communications and Kordia, in partnership, have won a contract to build and maintain a secure digital land mobile radio communications network across New Zealand, a key element of the Government’s recently announced Public Safety Network (PSN).

With more than 450 sites, this will be one of the largest P25 networks in the world.
