Boulder County Colorado Orders BKR 9000 Radios from BK Technologies

In order to standardize on a single radio platform that can function on all P25 radio systems, in any frequency band, as well as the VHF band for wildland fire operations, the BKR 9000 multiband radio was chosen.

As part of an upgrade program to replace a variety of older radios for 26 fire agencies throughout the county, Boulder County, Colorado, through the Company's local authorized dealer, has placed a purchase order for 315 of BK Technologies Corporation's BKR 9000 multiband radios (NYSE American: BKTI) (the “Company” or “BK Technologies”), the company announced today. As of right now, the fire departments employ a variety of manufacturer-branded radios on Colorado's DTRS 7/800MHz P25 radio system for everyday use. They also have a number of BK radios to support their VHF-based wildland fire mission. In order to standardize on a single radio platform that can function on all P25 radio systems, in any frequency band, as well as the VHF band for wildland fire operations, the BKR 9000 multiband radio was chosen.

Initially, daily fire, EMS, emergency services, and SAR operations as well as reactions to wildland fire situations will be handled by the radios.
