Collaboration results in a robust solution designed to guarantee seamless critical communication backup during exceptional situations when everything else might fail.

Northcom announced the successful implementation of a joint project between DAMM Cellular Systems and Northcom for the Kymenlaakso Rescue Department, part of the combined wellbeing services of the county of Kymenlaakso in Finland.

The collaboration has resulted in a robust solution designed to guarantee seamless critical communication backup during exceptional situations when everything else might fail.

In the words of the Kymenlaakso team,

"We are very pleased with the result of our collaboration with Northcom and DAMM. They provided us with a rapid, effective solution for every technical challenge we faced. The system's simplicity and flexibility are remarkable, making it perfectly suited to our needs."

The solution offers:

  • Easy deployment and rapid operation.
  • A decentralised solution with no single point of failure for maximum uptime
  • A self-healing architecture that re-establishes communication seamlessly without human intervention when inter-site connectivity is compromised.
  • A dynamic design permitting both standalone bubbles and network-wide communications.
  • Full service, functionality, and uncompromised security even in isolated nodes situations.

With Phase One, featuring four MultiTech BS422 base stations, completed and running smoothly, Nothcom said it looks forward to continuing this partnership to enhance safety and efficiency in the region.
