There must be comprehensive and reliable coverage within buildings, such as airports, and in tunnels....

Germany has been slow out of the blocks to replace analogue cellular systems with a digital radio network. The Federal Agency for Digital Radio of Security Authorities and Organisations (BDBOS) is in the process of providing a uniform digital voice and data communication system for blue light services throughout the country.

Germany’s situation is unique in the European market, due to the sheer scale of the roll out of the digital radio network, which will see it become the largest in the region. There must be comprehensive and reliable coverage within buildings, such as airports, and in tunnels which means service in a confined area must offer the highest levels of resilience, robustness and quality. This is the view of Rob Bruce, Axell Wireless’ EMEA Business Development Manager.

According to Bruce, TETRA, known for its high levels of security, reliability and quality, provides the most flexible and resilient solution for public safety networks. If you would like to speak with Rob he will be attending the PMR Expo this week. He will be able to discuss the following:

  • The German approach to public safety based on TETRA (voice) and 3G (data)
  • The key technologies that are being utilised in Germany to provide ubiquitous coverage in the country
  • How the evolution of TETRA makes it the most robust system for public and private sector digital radio network

Axell Wireless is exhibiting at the PMR Expo in Cologne (22-24 Nov). The company will be located at stand No D10.
