TETRA Technology was sold to the police of the regime of Ahmadinejad
It is certainly not the first time that Italy provides the TETRA to a country where an explosive situation. In 2007, Finmeccanica sold through the Iranian Interior Ministry of radio equipment worth 6.5 million euros for the police forces of Isfahan and Mashhad.
On 15 June of that year, the then communications director of Finmeccanica, Simone Bemporad, and institutional relations director, Cameron Pirozzi, gathered at the U.S. Embassy in Rome with U.S. personnel to explain the project in Iran.
It was confirmed that the Italian Government with the U.S. where discussing specifically the ban on selling military equipment to Iran and Syria.
