EMO operates Europe’s largest dry bulk terminal for the unloading, storage and onward movement of iron ore and coal for the continent’s power and steel industries.

EMO operates Europe’s largest dry bulk terminal for the unloading, storage and onward movement of iron ore and coal for the continent’s power and steel industries.  At EMO, based in the Rotterdam port area,  machinery, heavy goods vehicles and employees work in close proximity. To ensure team safety, the company relies on two-way radio communications. With its two-way radios coming to end of life, it moved to install new technology. EMO needed a system that’s very reliable, provides loud and clear audio, can connect talk groups, and can cope with the tough environment - salt corrosion is ever-present.

During the 15th Critical Communications World Congress (incorporating the TETRA World Congress) in Paris, Flash Services together with EMO will present a joint business case of the multi-site TETRA system supplied with a total of:

  • 255 Portable TETRA radio's
  • 53 Mobile TETRA radio's.
  • 8 base stations

The system is composed of two sites, each with two carriers and covers the whole area of EMO.

The presentation will be given by: Jan Verbaan, Manager Purchase Department at EMO and Wim Stan, Business Consultant & Manager Project Support at Flash Services.
