Dutch C2000 TETRA network meets the standard - 99,9% availability
The performance of C2000 are rated on a number of key performance indicators. The most important key indicator is the availability of the network, the radio coverage and incident handling.
The Dutch ministry announced today that in 2012, the C2000 TETRA network for public safety in The Netherlands easily met the standards. On main points, the C2000 network outperformed 2011.
The performance of C2000 are rated on a number of key performance indicators. The most important key indicator is the availability of the network, the radio coverage and incident handling. On these indicators not only the standards have been achieved, but also the performance of the network compared to last year was improved significantly. Thus, the availability of the C2000 network in 2012 was 99.9%, against a norm of 98%.
From 2011 onwards, the Ministry of Security and Justice is investing heavily to increase the C2000 network coverage. This is where the project Solving Coverage Issues Netherlands (ODIN) started. By speeding up the placement of new masts, coverage problems of the network are eliminated. Meanwhile, the first phase of this improvement project has been completed with putting the 23rd mast in the Frisian Harkema earlier this month into operation. In total 44 new C2000 masts will be installed until the end of 2013.
