Zenitel Norway has been honored the contract for supply of the TETRA radio communication system for the Edvard Grieg platform on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Situated in the North Sea in waters measuring roughly 300 feet is the Luno and Ivar Aasen project. The two independent fields, along with a small marginal discovery, Tellus, are being developed together. The Luno field is situated in Production License 338 on Block 16/1 offshore the Norwegian North Sea in 354 feet (108 meters) of water. Lundin Petroleum serves as the operator and holds a 50% interest; Wintershall holds 30%; and RWE-Dea holds the remaining 20% interest.
Zenitel delivers the TETRA infrastructure, leaky feeders for confined area radio coverage and portable TETRA terminals with accessories to the Edvard Grieg platform. The platform is equipped with Motorola TETRA infrastructure as well as Motorola MTP 850 Ex portable radios and accessories. The TETRA system comprises Onboard Communication with interfaces to the PA/GA system and the IPBX telephone system as well special support for Crane Radio communication with link to external VHF radios.
