123 Communications delivers TETRA to Subsea 7 Spoolbase in Vigra

123 Communication AS has completed the delivery of a TETRA system to Subsea 7s spoolbase in Vigra, Norway

The system consists of DAMM Tetra infrastructure, Sepura STP9000 radios and a dispatcher solution.

According to a spokesman, the implementation of Subsea 7 Vigra spoolbase's upgrade of radio communications has been implemented in a very satisfactory manner, both technically and temporally.

Deliveries to Subsea 7 Vigra spoolbase included in this round; 1 DAMM base station, 50 hand-held terminals, dispatcher as well as programming & training solutions.

The spoolbase is located beside the airport on the island of Vigra on the North West coast of Norway, close to the city of Aalesund. The base runs 3.7 km across the island and includes a purpose-built deepwater quay area, covering a total area of 284 505 m². This makes it one of the longest spoolbase facilities of its type in the world. The base will employ up to 75 people when working at normal capacity, rising to 120 in peak periods
