Through the ‘Radio Integrator’ solution, that was developed in-house by DGT, the operator is now able to communicate immediately with officers in the field by using; a loudspeaker kit, telephone handset or headphone set. The flexible solution can also be integrated with additional memory storage for voice recording.

The heart of the solution is The Radio Integrator Unit (RIU) that provides parallel connection of four selected radio systems into one or two conferences. DGT developed a flexible system that can be expanded by external GSM/PSTN users which may be joined to any of the conferences. PTT Connect users can also be connected through Wi-Fi.

DGT told us that the solution is by default compatible with 10 different radio types. However, almost any radio interface can be added on customer’s request. The number and type of interfaces may differ depending on the customer needs. For example; the simple version with 3 interfaces, which that was designed at the request of the German police is available for only 5000 Euro.

Some of the key features or ‘Radio Integrator’ are:

  • Radio Integrator is simple and intuitive in operation - it does not require specific knowledge or training.
  • Radio Integrator is equipped with user friendly touch screen which provides information about radio connection status, conference status, GSM and Wi-Fi signal and other types of messages.
