Further TETRA Cooperation Between Norway & Sweden in NOSE Talk Groups
The new service makes it possible for Norwegian and Swedish emergency services to cooperate in common talk groups, as well as sending messages and making individual calls.
As the first in the world, Norway and Sweden have connected their national emergency network. This provides new opportunities for cross-border cooperation. As a result of that, cooperation between Norwegian and Swedish emergency services have now been further enhanced and simplified.
A new service makes it possible for Norwegian and Swedish emergency services to cooperate in common talk groups, as well as sending messages and making individual calls.
Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB) in Norway and the Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) in Sweden., together with Norwegian and Swedish emergency services, have now established joint Norwegian-Swedish talk groups called: NOSE talk groups. These talk groups are now available to users in both countries.
To deal with missions in neighbouring countries, the radio terminal must additionally use a subscription and must be updated with with latest software license. The radio terminal can then migrate seamlessly over to the network of the neighbouring country and the user can continue communicating in NOSE-talk groups even when the conversation needs to be continued across the border.
As there are a limited number of licenses available, subscription occurs through a separate application process.
