TAURON Announces Replacement of DIGICOM 7 by TETRA Technology

The complete modernization of the 9 locations that need an upgrade is expected to be completed by December 15, 2017.

Tauron Dystrybucja SA branch in Legnica, part of TAURON Polska Energia S.A, the largest electricity distributor in Poland with a distribution grid that covers an area of approximately 57.000 square kilometers, recentlyannounced the - Modernization of power systems and the implementation of TETRA.

The company recently issued a tender for the delivery, assembly, connection and commissioning on 48 VDC power supply facilities and 230 VAC guaranteed power supply systems. The contractor will also be responsible for carrying out tests and measurements as well as training 3 people in the field of operation of the installed equipment.

As part of the complete modernization, the current TETRA system will replace the analog DIGICOM 7 digital trunking system currently being used in the Bielsko area of ​​Tauron. The new base stations will be integrated into existing TETRA systems in Gliwice and Rybnik. The company already uses a full TETRA system at their location in Gliwice, Bedzin and Bielsko Biała.

The complete modernization of the 9 locations (Legnica, Prochowice, Lubin, Ścinawa, Chocianów, Polkowice, Iwinach, Złotoryja and Głogów) is expected to be completed by December 15, 2017.
