the Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) application will be applied to the communications system later for better control and dispatching.
To Greeks, trolley bus is a major travel tool. Hytera supplied ILPAP, one of the most important trolley bus operators in Greek, with a robust wireless communications system, covering all the 23 routes run by ILPAP in Athens and Piraeus areas. The 23 trolley bus routes run by ILPAP cover more than 350km with 80 million annual passenger rides. To enhance operation efficiency and better serve passengers, a highly effective and uncompromising communications system is in urgent demand.
Thoroughly understanding the challenges faced by urban transport industry, Hytera proposed a tailored solution for the unique demands of ILPAP, and provided prototype of Hytera DMR mobile radio MD78XG to ILPAP for trial. Powered by superior performance and versatile functionalities, Hytera MD78XG greatly impressed the customers, especially for functions like GPS positioning, various voice calling, convenient dispatching and text messaging. By the end of April 2011, the initial 180 MD78XG mobile radios were delivered to ILPAP. These mobile radios have been proven to be well operated up to now. Moreover, the Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) application will be applied to the communications system later for better control and dispatching.
