During the handover, senior members of the police service were given a field demonstration of the coverage of the system, crystal clear voice quality as well as the secure sms feature between radio units for relaying messages between members.

Emcom Wireless recently handed over a multi-million rand digital mobile radio network to the Royal Swazi Police Service, at a ceremony held in the Shiselweni Region of Swaziland attended by senior officials from the Commissioner’s office and the Research and Planning Division of the Police Service.

From working with various government institutions across Africa, Emcom had seen that the digital mobile radio (DMR) technology, though relatively new on the continent, has quickly proved its worth and has become important for urban, peri-urban and even rural deployment of mission critical communications where secure robust and feature-rich technology is required over wide areas.
