RADIODATA Introduces the RADIUM Data Modem

Source: MCCResources

Considering IT-security requirements as laid down in ISO/IEC 27001, makes RADIUM particularly well suited for Smart Grids.

The RADIUM data modem is a new DMR Tier III radio terminal for SCADA-over-Radio applications.

RADIUM is an integral part of DIPRAcontrol, RADIODATA's solution for SCADA-over-Radio applications for utility companies. Special data reduction methods in DIPRAcontrol facilitate a very efficient transmission of SCADA protocols IEC 60870-5-101 and IEC 60870-5-104 over DIPRA DMR Tier III radio networks from RADIODATA.

Considering IT-security requirements as laid down in ISO/IEC 27001, makes RADIUM particularly well suited for Smart Grids. Confidentiality is secured by applying AES-128 or AES-256 encryption methods, whereas integrity of payload data transferred is maintained by additional information elements. High availability is determined by the global design of the DMR Tier III radio network.

The compact design permits room-saving installations on DIN rails, mounting plates and in 19" racks. For deployment in harsh environments the variant RADIUM-R is offered which conforms to protection class IP65.

The RADIUM data modem is available for immediate delivery for radio networks operating in the frequency range of 146 to 174 MHz.
