Teesworks Security Boost After Site Teams Up With Eemits Communications

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

A Teesside telecoms firm is expanding its operations on Teesworks after securing a new site-wide deal in the UK.

Middlesbrough-based Eemits Communications provides two-way communication technology from its headquarters at Riverside Park.

It is already working with security firm Wilson James to support site security for staff working on the 800 metre SeAH Wind monopile manufacturing facility at South Bank.

However, the company has now agreed a deal which will see its radio technology used by staff across the entire vast Teesworks site.

Established in 1986, Eemits also works with GE Renewables at the Able Port, in Seaton Carew, as part of efforts at the Dogger Bank Wind Farm project.

Martin Corney, Teesworks CEO, said:

“We’re very pleased to have an established local firm in Eemits Communications working with us at Teesworks. Our teams have already noticed the difference their technology and knowledge has made.

“As we see more and more projects moving forward on the site, security and communications become even more important.

“We want as many good local firms as possible involved in our wider vision for the site – and Eemits is another to add to that ever-growing list.”

Craig Matthews, Managing Director of Eemits Communications, said:

“We’re delighted to be delivering an ultra-reliable two-way radio system for Teesworks, utilising our award-winning TRBOCALL platform – their staff are equipped to use it effectively for safety, productivity, and efficiency purposes – now and in the future.

“Following our work with Wilson James on the SeAH Wind monopile factory, we know first-hand that Teesworks is rapidly growing as major projects come to life on the site.

“So, securing a contract like this is a real success story for us. It’s not just about supporting Teesworks with reliable radio communication, it’s about us being able to continue a period of growth and keep employing local people who make these kinds of opportunities a possibility.”

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said:

“It was great to meet Eemits Communications when they secured work with Wilson James earlier this year – and I’m delighted they’ve gone on to work with the Teesworks team.

“It goes to show how a successful local firm has visited a supplier event, found an opportunity at Teesworks, got work and grown on the back of everything our Joint Venture Partners are doing.

“With Net Zero Teesside Power to come, and SeAH Wind taking shape, their knowledge and technology is boosting security for our teams and our investors is vital as thousands more good well-paid jobs come to fruition.”
