Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

PCTEL has added Analog FM signal decoding capabilities to its award-winning public safety network testing solution, enabling automated signal quality measurements and reporting for code-based indoor grid testing and indoor/outdoor coverage surveys.

PCTEL’s solution makes it easy to verify critical communications coverage for first responders is reliable and meets local building codes. It measures and reports signal quality across multiple network technologies, including P25, TETRA, Analog FM, DMR, Public Safety LTE/FirstNet, and other broadband cellular networks.

“Analog FM radio remains a crucial component of the public safety communications ecosystem,” said James Zik, PCTEL’s VP of Product Management. “We will continue to expand our support for Analog FM across our entire ecosystem of public safety testing and monitoring solutions, so that jurisdictions can more easily support reliable, interoperable radio communications, indoors and out.”

Analog FM is now available as a technology option for PCTEL’s public safety network testing solution and IBflex® and HBflex™ scanning receivers.
