NextNav Inc. CEO Mariam Sorond Named to the Forbes Technology Council

Mariam Sorond, CEO of NextNav Inc. (Nasdaq: NN), a leader in next generation positioning, navigation, timing (PNT) and 3D geolocation, has been accepted to join the Forbes Technology Council, the foremost growth and networking organization for successful leaders worldwide.

Sorond is recognized for her achievements and thought leadership in the technology and telecommunications industries.

After nearly three decades in the technology and telecommunications industries, Sorond was selected by a review committee based on the depth and diversity of her experience. Criteria for acceptance includes a track record of successfully impacting business growth metrics, as well as personal and professional achievements and honors.

Sorond has led transformational change across mobile, wireless, and satellite networks industries and held leadership positions within start-ups and large companies. She brings extensive expertise in commercializing technologies that transform companies to increase monetization, with a proven track record of success. This experience is foundational to furthering NextNav’s leadership with 3D geolocation and GPS resiliency. Before joining NextNav as CEO last year, Sorond served as the Chief Technology Officer, SEBU at VMWare, Chief Research and Development Officer at CableLabs and Chief Wireless Architect at DISH. She also served on the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC) and the Federal Communications Commission’s Technological Advisory Council.

Sorond is leading NextNav into a new chapter with the ultimate goal to achieve a new future for geolocation. NextNav’s innovative terrestrial PNT technology serves as a complement and backup to traditional GPS services.
