Dutch Minister Expects to Migrate to New C2000 TETRA Network in Spring 2020
In an earlier statement, the Dutch Minister said that migration to the new mission critical public safety network would take place somewhere next month.
In a letter to the Dutch Parliament, Minister Ferd Grapperhaus (Minister of Justice and Security) reports that migration of the new C2000 mission critical communications TETRA Network is expected to take place in the first quarter of next year. In an earlier statement the Dutch Ministry said that migration would take place somewhere next month.
The total delay of the migration of the Dutch mission critical communications TETRA network is three years, as the network was originally scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2017.
Grapperhaus indicates that, he is following the advice of the Steering Committee for the C2000 Renewal.
“In the coming months, all parties are committed to the finalize the migration and before the end of this year, I will inform the Parliament on the latest progress. I would like to emphasize that an IT project of this size, even after successful implementation, needs some time to meet all expectations, "he writes.
He offers the members of the Parliament to organize a closed technical briefing for the migration of the voice network in order to allow the members to be further informed. Herein a final state of affairs can be given about the preparation of the actual migration and the follow-up process of renewing the radio management within the control rooms.
This fall, Minister Grapperhaus will also provide more information about the results of the exploration for a successor of the new C2000 system.
