Pro-M Tests TETRA System in Preparation of the 2020 European Football Championship
The exercise conducted at the Ferenc Puskás Arena involved Rapid Response teams and Special Police Service as well as the National Ambulance Service.
Pro-M zrt, the governmental communications provider of users of public protection and disaster relief in Hungary, conducted a radio communication exercise on 26 February 2020 in the Ferenc Puskás Arena. The excercise involved Rapid Response teams and Special Police Service as well as the National Ambulance Service.
In the framework of the exercise, the radio communication of the rescue has been executed in close cooperation with those taking part in rescue and damage elimination operations in relation to the 2020 European Football Championship, supported by the specialized systems supplied by Pro-M.
Pro-M stated: "We carried out an operation continuity test on 26 February 2020 in Puskás Arena, by involving the Rapid Response and Special Police Service as well as the National Ambulance Service. During the exercise, EDR communication required for a safe and secure arrangement and conducting of matches of the 2020 European Football Championship to be organised in Hungary has been practised, with special attention to cooperation between the implementing bodies. During the test normal communication operations for the matches and radio communication to be used in rescue and damage elimination operations in a presumed suddenly arising emergency situation have been tested, with the supportive involvement of Pro-M. The EDR specialised systems have been applied in management and direction operations, and they proved to provide great help for the work and information of the head of the Operational Corps. The implementing bodies have integrated the lessons and experiences drawn in the signal plan of the security and safety tasks, with special attention to cooperating talk groups. After the event, the exercise has been evaluated by the implementing bodies, the invited leaders of the rapid response and special services as well as the signal corps professionals and they found it successful. The exercise has demonstrated that the professional EDR knowledge of the chief officer on duty at the service provider as well as the setting options in the specialised system provide a significant support on the spot for the work of the Operational Corps."
