DSB to Establish a National Governance Model for Emergency Communications
In collaboration with the Police Directorate and the Directorate of Health and other key players, DSB is currently establishing a national management model for emergency and emergency communication to coordinate work and strengthen collaboration.
Emergency responders and other emergency response actors are constantly evolving and changing. The development of society means that new demands, opportunities and threats are constantly emerging that must be taken into account in the further development of emergency and emergency communication. A management model with participants from several sectors contributes to coordinating work to reduce vulnerability in society and strengthen collaboration in emergency and crisis management.
"Good emergency and emergency communication helps to protect life and values. It is important that the resources are able to find each other and are able to interact effectively and safely in order to solve their tasks", says Sigurd Heier, Department Director at DSB.
- Technology development and digitalisation provide new opportunities for efficient collaboration and efficient assignment management between actors, Heier continues.
“By establishing a national governance model, we will be able to ensure, among other things, further development, anchoring across the field of emergency and emergency communication,” says Heier.
The management model will help the players to make good and broadly based decisions related to all emergency and emergency communication activities. The model adds up to three levels: a trade committee, a priority committee and a national board.
A first meeting of the trade committee will be held today 18-06-2020.
