Solutions will be evaluated by “a large group of practitioners” from across European emergency services.

On 26th November 2024, the group of buyers of the EUCCS Preparation, previously known as BroadEU.Net and led by PSCE officially announced the award and conclusion of the contracts with four winning contractors:

  • Airbus
  • Frequentis
  • Leonardo
  • Teltronic

The contractors will be working in the frame of the EUCCS Preparation to build the grounds for deployment and operational use of EUCCS. a pan-European mission critical high-capacity mobile communication system for law enforcement, emergency response and all public protection and disaster relief (PPDR) responders, in two phases.

During the first phase, each awarded team will provide MCX services for two countries, and the interconnect between them to realise international communication groups between the differently managed systems.

These testbeds will then be incrementally interconnected to assess the interoperability between different systems. This will build the confidence in the technical maturity of the 3GPP MCX services and will support, in the near future, the establishment of the EUCCS.

The 4 contractors will also be presented in person during the PSCE Conference taking place on 4th & 5th December in Brussels.
