The agreement aims to maintain and develop the Rakel communication system until the transition to 5G technology is completed in 2030.
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and Airbus Defence and Space Oy (Finland) have entered into a new agreement for the delivery of system equipment and support services. The agreement aims to maintain and develop the Rakel communication system until the transition to 5G technology is completed in 2030.
"The new agreement with Airbus helps to ensure our high demands for robustness, availability and development in Rakel until we transition to 5G technology.
Strong partnerships is essential for our possibilities to provide strong and reliable services to user organisations in Sweden. Now I look forward for the continuing work, but first a little pause and celebration that yet another milestone have been reached!
says Ronny Harpe, Operations Manager for Rakel and Management Systems, MSB on Social Media.
The agreement will take effect on April 1, 2025 and covers equipment and services based on the tetra technology that Rakel is currently based on.
