DAMM chosen to provide communication for GAIL pipeline in India
GAIL is a Government of India undertaking, and the largest gas transmission and marketing company in India
DAMM Cellular Systems has won the contract to provide TetraFlex® Solution to the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) pipeline in north India.
GAIL is a Government of India undertaking, and the largest gas transmission and marketing company in India. Started as a natural gas pipeline company in 1984, GAIL has successfully evolved into a major integrated gas company with presence across the natural gas value chain. GAIL (India) Limited has shown growth in gas transmission through the years by building large network of trunk pipelines covering length of over 11000 Km.
New compressor stations of GAIL are coming up at the locations Kailaras and Chainsa in the existing Pipeline 'Bawana'.
For upcoming compressor requirements, there is need of an upgraded secure digital radio communication system at Kailaras and Chainsa Compressor Stations, catering to the mobile and control room voice/data requirements. DAMM will provide an integrated solution which connects to the existing telephony network at each station.?The TetraFlex® system is delivered through DAMM's local partner, Consort Digital, who together with the project main contractor, Icon Control, will be responsible for supply, installation, integration and commissioning of the entire project, as an integrated part of the overall telecom system.
With DAMM's TetraFlex® solution, the requirements of GAIL for a feature rich, reliable and safe communication system will be fully met. The important factor in choosing the TetraFlex® solution is the completely IP-based and distributed network architecture that provides the much needed fault tolerance to the communication network, with no single point of failure.
In addition, DAMM TetraFlex® solution can be easily integrated to different types of telecom backbone including Optical Fiber. PABX Gateway ensures full connectivity to the PABX network at each compressor station across the pipeline.
Mr. Per Skovsund, Director of System Business at DAMM comments : "We see an increasingly focus within the oil and gas industry for secure and failsafe communications, and are pleased that again the TetraFlex® solution has proven to be the ideal choice, due to its distributed IP network architecture, leaving no single point of failure of the system."
