Airwave Solutions: Securely capture and manage photographs
Designed to work as a support tool in conjunction with the existing radio communication infrastructure that is already in place
Airwave, the leading provider of critical voice and data communications to public service organisations in Great Britain, has partnered with Timico Mobile to deliver a photo management solution that securely captures and manages photographs using PDAs or BlackBerry™ devices.
Designed to work as a support tool in conjunction with the existing radio communication infrastructure that is already in place, Timico’s hand-e-pix application is a mobile photo management solution that can be used by customers to collect a combination of images, locations and data.
According to David Sangster, UK services director at Airwave, “With hand-e-pix the user can quickly and easily take an image and add notes to the image, which is also stamped with the time and date, user’s ID and GPS location coordinates. Images are then locked down to preserve their evidential integrity.”
David went on to say that the images can be automatically sent and stored on the back office photo management suite and can only be retrieved using secure access.
Timico is an award-winning internet service provider specialising in voice and data connectivity solutions for UK businesses and an independent provider of mobile, IP networking, internet, fixed line, IT and cloud services to the business market. The hand-e-pix application has already been successfully deployed in various sectors including police, construction, housing associations and local authorities.
According to Nick Taylor, Timico business development manager, “The hand-e-pix application is already being used successfully by the West Yorkshire Police and Essex Police and has been acknowledged to provide real business improvement and measurable savings.”
Airwave and Timico will work with early adopters, at no extra cost, to examine and measure current working practices and restrictions and then look at how hand-e-pix can enable true business change.
David went on to say that “we don’t want to simply look at technology through the lens of existing paper based tasks - we want to work with customers, for example, in the area of evidence capture, to open up new ideas and ways of working”.
