SAIT Zenitel to deliver ATEX TETRA communications infrastructure and radios to BP
For additional protection, nearly 20 radios for "lone workers" where equipped with "dead man" software.
As a SEVESO company (Belgian name for BRZO (Major Accident Hazards risk companies), the Oil company BP is subject to strict safety requirements. Consequently they should be able to rely on an intrinsically safe and reliable communications.
In the chemical manufacturing center in Geel, the major BP site in Belgium, SAIT Zenitel installed recently a TETRA communications infrastructure, including an indoor coverage solution that provides network coverage of the entire plant. More than 200 explosion proof ATEX radios and 25 mobile radios provide a 100% secure communications. For additional protection, nearly 20 radios for "lone workers" where equipped with "dead man" software. This functionality allows the dispatcher to be notified when the radio user does not move (fainted, stuck, etc.).
