Increase in need for antennas in The Netherlands unitil 2017
The number of antennas for broadcasting and the C2000 TETRA Network remains stable or grows according to plan.
Stratix Consulting writes in a report for the Dutch Ministry that the total demand for antennas in the Netherlands will increase until 2017. The Antenna Register in its present form seems obsolete.
The largest number of antenna installations, and in absolute terms the strongest expected increase concerns mobile communication networks. Especially the increase in data usage and the way users communicate results in a need for more antenna systems. The number of antennas for other applications such as broadcasting, C2000 and TETRA, remains stable or grows according to plan.
The report draws only (tentative) conclusions and makes no recommendations. In the coming years, the Ministry and the Radio Communications Agency should supervise and enforce. How that will happen, is still unknown.
